III – The Egg

May 24, 2025 | Short Story

And so You incubate,
And learn to crawl,
So we may one day take to the stars.

Constellations in a fractal kaleidoscope,
Each more significant than the whole,
Expanding Infinitely and Infinitely magnificent,
For Him to behold.
And to behold Him.

You are the egg,
The seed.
And we shall soar farther than You have ever dreamed to go.

Reflections of The Damned

There are perhaps millions, billions, or quintillions of years of human history ahead of us. Would we allow human values from a thousand years ago to determine right from wrong? Our cultural values of today will seem barbaric in just one thousand years. We are a fragile step along a golden path.

As technology and culture evolve over unimaginable timescales, we will generate an enormous amount of good with the energy we harness. As cells arrange to form an intelligent mind, our many minds may arrange to form the greatest machine the universe will ever see. And then, perhaps, we may behold God.
